Hardboiled Magazine
We don’t know why we haven’t heard about this earlier but I guess it still isn’t too late.

Hardboiled Magazine, powered by the brilliant people over at Yolk is a digital online magazine, choosing to focus not on all that jazz.. but on real issues happening all over the world. Each issue focuses on different ecological and social issues. With their first issue out last October, 2007, Hardboiled magazine has launched yet another 2 issues, with their 3rd one just out so you’re not too slow on finding out either.
Unlike other digital magazines, this is the real deal. Everything is almost aesthetically perfect, down to every single detail, it’s mind boggling how much effort they put in to make every article interesting. Ultimately, Hardboiled just plans to communicate and interact with wider and broader group of social activists communities.
You can view their older issues via hovering over the their logo on the top left hand corner.
The only qualms we have about it is the slow loading time it takes on our computers. But looking at the state of my computer, maybe my words shouldn’t be taken so seriously.
It’s heartening to know that there are people who really give a damn, and doing so they didn’t do it boring and predictable. They did it fun, charming and tasteful. So even if you are the least interested in what they’re trying to inculcate, at least spread the word.

Thanks to the very kind Mister Eden for the bg image.
You know how after listening to a certain song, you just can’t get the tune out of the head? Doesn’t matter what genre it, you find yourself putting them on repeat. Within days they make the Top 25 Most Played List on your iTunes. Or maybe not.
Well anyway our first mixtape is to commemorate all that makes you want to get on your feet and dance silly. 14 tracks from everyone and everywhere. We threw in 2 from Kid Sister , added a new track from French darlings C.S.S, found a Gui Boratto remix of the Goldfrapp song we’ve been obsessed about for the longest time and just had to include that Madonna track remix by our very own local electroheads, Clash The Disko Kids.
Not to forget, August just gave us another reason to party – Singapore’s 43rd Birthday. We hear Velvet’s throwing an ultra luxe party to commemorate their anniversary complete with everything glittery and also not to be missed – Juice’s August poster boy Inquisitive will be getting down at Butter coming August 9th. Tough decisions but one has got to make a choice..
Figured there couldn’t have been a better time. Also, watch out for the (DAY) version of our mixtape, we promise the other side of the spectrum – a more appeasing, comforting sound.
